About the talk..
Alan Titchmarsh’s love for gardening blossomed as a child in his home garden. On leaving school with only one O-level the most obvious path to follow was horticulture, a choice that led to a flourishing media career spanning almost 50 years and that has seen him become one of Britain’s best-loved gardeners, writers, and television presenters. In conversation with garden historian and TV presenter Advolly Richmond, Alan will discuss the highs and lows of his amazing life in gardens, from breaking an ankle after slipping on a dew-laden lawn, to designing a garden for Nelson Mandela and working with King Charles, to helping transform people’s lives through the joy of gardening.
